Mr. Boulevard and Mr. Schlafly go to Jeff City

Earlier this month representatives from Boulevard and Schlafly met in Missouri state capital. They were there to introduce themselves to Missouri legislators and to present the importance of craft beer to Missouri.  Julie Weeks from Boulevard provided this information:

Boulevard Brewing partnered with Schlafly Beer to host a reception for Missouri legislators on January 20th in Jefferson City. It gave us an opportunity to provide the legislators with information about craft brewers in the state and the economic contributions such as labor, materials and taxes our industry provides in Missouri.
The reception offered samplings of four different beers from each brewery as well as light appetizers. More than 80 Representatives and Senators attended the event along with a few dozen staff. The number guest who came exceeded our expectations and we were happy with the positive feedback received from legislators. They appreciated us saying hello without any other sort of agenda.
There is currently no legislation on the dock that affects Missouri craft breweries, but by establishing these relationships we are prepared to reach out to the legislators in the future. We enjoyed the collaboration with Schlafly to come together on this project and look forward to future opportunities to partner with craft brewers for the industry’s well-being.
Good to know that both brewers are working together.  Especially since the KC Star just posted an article about Boulevard gaining market share in Saint Louis.  Sounds like there is still some healthy competition.  Part of the article describes Boulevard's increased charitable activity in Saint Louis.  To be fair, Schlafly has also increased visibility and activities in KC.
