More Dark Truth Info

Julie Weeks, Boulevard's new Marketing Communications Manager, sent me the sales sheets about the new Smokestacks I posted about earlier. She is now in charge of Boulevard's PR and social media presence. How's that for a cool job?

She also added this little bit of info:
The Imperial Stout from last year was a limited release so unfortunately we don’t have any plans for it to come back.

The new stout is actually similar to a version of the Limited Release Imperial Stout before it was barrel aged, which we all fell in love with at the brewery. What makes this beer so unique is the recipe — a wide variety of grains (barley, wheat, rye and oats) paired with a Belgian yeast... It’s super dark, smooth, rich and super delicious.

So I sort of got my wish that the Imperial Stout comes back, just slightly different.  No barrel aging. What I liked best about the Imperial Stout was the Belgian yeast. It just added an extra kick to the flavors you don't usually get with a standard Russian Imperial Stout. I guess you would call it a Belgian Imperial Stout.

On another note, see that glass in the sale sheet? Pretty cool looking. Wouldn't it be nice to have one of those? Hint, hint

  1. I've seen the glass around town. I picked one up at the Kansas Gomer's. Love it.

  2. In the posted picture of the bottle it looks like ABV = 11%, but the listing says 9.7%... wonder why the discrepency?

  3. the 9.7% is what i've heard. I bet the 11% on the immage is an oversight

  4. That is a nice glass, *wink *wink *nudge *nudge. This sounds delicious, it'd be great to have a beer like this AND the barrel-aged with it to be able to directly compare.
