11.2 oz bottle poured into a Boulevard Smokestack goblet. Very dark creamy brown head. The head only stands about a half inch from the initial pour. As it recedes it is unable to maintain lacing. Color is a silky dark brown that shifts to black. Thin blood red highlights appear when holding the glass to the light.
Smell has lots of dark chocolate, espresso beans, and a little dark cherry. Taste is also a bold rush of dark chocolate. The kind with chunks of cocoa beans in it. Taste is a little like a red chocolate cake. Coffee is warm and nutty, pecans and hazelnut. Mellow snap from the alcohol in the finish.
Mouthfeel has a thick velvety texture. Chewy body that paints itself across the tongue. This is a great sipper, and I'm really excited that it is now locally available.
